Hello backers,
V2 of the Early Access PDF has been released. It should be in your DrivethruRPG content now. So please download the new version. Many thanks to everyone that have sent in bug reports. We are already working on V3 and hope to have it as clean as possible before it is sent to the printer.
Otherwise, there's not much to talk about this week. I continue to write and refine the GM's Notebook as well as lay out Fantasy Adversaries Vol. 1. Whenever any document is completed, they will be added for distribution in BackerKit for those who ordered the book.
Surveys
Most of you have completed your surveys. Thank you! About 15% still need to complete that step. Please do so! You won't be sent anything until you do, even if you just ordered the PDF and don't need add-ons, etc. Here is the link if you lost your survey email: https://heroesandhardships.backerkit.com/

State of the Project - Week 4

Dear backers,
Surveys have been out for over a week now, and 85% of you have completed your survey. Great job!
For those that haven't, please do so ASAP. You'll get the early access PDF soon after you do. If you were a part of the Print Hero tier and above you'll also get the Earl of Fife adventure collection. Pre-orders are still open as well. So tell your friends that missed the Kickstarter!

Early Access PDF
The PDF is still being prepared for the printer. Many thanks and kudos to our Discord community for their bug hunting to fix some issues they've spotted. I plan on releasing a V2 of the PDF this week or next. I suspect the "V3" version will end up being the initial complete PDF. V2 will be added to the DrivethruRPG product and will be available to you automatically for download.
Book Upgrade
One thing we missed out on at 50k was the book upgrade. Because I am determined to make this the nicest product I can, I have gone forward and commissioned art for the interior covers and endpapers. Angelo Peluso will be doing the art in one 4 panel scene. This hopefully can be used for a GM Screen later on as well.

State of the Project - Week 3: Surveys released

Dear backers,
As some of you are aware, surveys were sent out Friday and over the weekend. If you have not completed yours, please do so. You can pay for shipping, add-on items, and upgrade your pledge. Everyone with rewards should complete their survey, regardless if they need to pay for shipping or won't have any add-ons. Once you COMPLETE YOUR SURVEY, and after a period to allow you to update your order, you will be sent a code with access to the Early Access PDF!
I have had some good feedback so far and have been working on an updated version. Nothing drastic so far thankfully.
In the world of print I am continuing to go through the printer's specifications and make sure the files are ready. I am also working with distributors to see if we can sell the book to retail stores, as this will change how many books I'm able to print. If you frequent your local game store, tell them about Heroes & Hardships. I'll sell directly to retailers as well!

Surveys have Started

Dear backers,
5% of you have been sent the initial batch of test surveys. These are sent at random across all pledge levels. Please fill out your surveys, pay for shipping, supply your name for the book, and grab whatever add-ons you would like.
At the end of each day I will send a notice to those that have completed their survey that their order will be locked in 48 hours. That gives you some time if you want to upgrade, etc. If you decide that after the fact, just contact me and I'll make it happen. We are moving quickly so that I can get the early access PDF in your hands ASAP. When your order is locked, you will be sent the early access PDF.
Once the initial batch goes well and any problems are ironed out, I will send out the rest of the surveys. That is likely to happen on Monday.

State of the Project - Week 2

Dear backers,
I am happy to announce the early-access PDF is complete. All associated files, including the PDF, character sheets, and AP trackers have been uploaded to DrivethruRPG in preparation for fulfilment. Here is how it will work.
In the next two weeks you should receive the Backerkit survey. This survey is important for all backers, not just for those with physical rewards. So please complete your survey, which will include the name you wish added to the book, your choice of add-ons, and your shipping address and payment (if applicable). Those that complete their survey will receive the DrivethruRPG code which will let you download all the associated files. If you do not complete your survey you WILL NOT RECEIVE the early-access PDF or any other rewards until you do.
Surveys and early-access fulfilment could start as early as Thursday (11/17). I encourage everyone to read through the PDF and contact me with any questions or if you notice anything such as typos, etc. This will help the print book be the best we can make it. Once per day I will distribute the early access PDF and various other digital rewards that are ready (3rd-Party POD codes, 3rd-Party PDF codes, etc). All other digital rewards such as stretch goals, early access rewards, digital add-ons, the finalized core rulebook, and the GM's Notebook will be distributed as they are completed.
I am hopeful to send the files to the printer by the end of the year, which will help us get the books in your hand well before October 2023.
